The investment will help Karo Sambhav scale high-quality recycling infrastructure to recover critical, precious and high-value materials from e-waste and allied waste streams.
Gurugram, 18th June 2026: Karo Sambhav, a leading circular economy and recycling company in India, has raised a ₹56 crore Pre-Series A investment from Rainmatter by Zerodha to scale critical raw material recovery from end-of-life products.
Founded in 2017, Karo Sambhav has grown for nine years as a bootstrapped organisation. It operates two recycling facilities, has established collection channels in more than 50 cities across India, and has channelised more than 150,000 metric tonnes of waste towards responsible recycling. The company works across e-waste, batteries, glass, and other end-of-life material streams, supported by a technology platform for transparency and traceability.
The investment from Rainmatter by Zerodha will support Karo Sambhav’s next phase: scaling high-quality recycling infrastructure for recovery of critical, precious, and high-value materials. The immediate focus will be on e-waste, given its concentration of valuable metals and components, while the platform will also create provision for allied waste streams. Karo Sambhav’s planned infrastructure has also received an Eligibility Status under the Incentive Scheme for Promotion of Critical Mineral Recycling, National Critical Minerals Mission (NCMM), Ministry of Mines.
“Rainmatter by Zerodha backs organisations building long-term solutions for climate resilience, sustainability and resource efficiency. Karo Sambhav has demonstrated patient execution and systems-level impact in a difficult sector. We are pleased to support its next phase of growth as it scales infrastructure for critical material recovery and circular manufacturing in India,” said Viraj Joshi, VP at Zerodha and Rainmatter.
Access to Critical Raw Materials is linked to India’s ability to build resilient supply chains for electronics, clean energy, mobility, defence, healthcare, digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. Rare earths are used in magnets, motors and precision equipment; gold, silver, platinum group metals, copper, and tantalum across printed circuit boards and electronic components; lithium, cobalt, nickel and graphite in batteries; and indium, tin in screens.
India is the third-largest generator of e-waste globally, generating an estimated 4.1 million metric tonnes annually. Globally, the annual e-waste generation is expected to reach 82 million tonnes by 2030. This makes end-of-life electronics a major waste challenge and a significant urban resource opportunity.
“India’s manufacturing future will require reliable access to critical, precious and high-value materials. Many of these materials are already present in products that have reached the end-of-life. Karo Sambhav has spent the last nine years building the operating base to collect, recycle and trace these material streams responsibly. Rainmatter by Zerodha’s investment enables us to scale high-quality recycling infrastructure for critical raw material recovery,” said Pranshu Singhal, Founder & CEO, Karo Sambhav.
Karo Sambhav has been recognised for its contribution to India’s circular economy ecosystem, including receiving the prestigious ‘Social Entrepreneur of the Year India 2021’ award from the Schwab Foundation, World Economic Forum.
